The superb Joker Morinda came into the world on the
14th of June 2019. Rafale, for whom this was a first
foal, straight away accepted him and is looking after him really
well. In view of the strong character of "Rafalou", we were not
really certain of her reaction.
This colt has inherited the energy of both his parents as well as
the size and paces Ulyss always passes on. He has also inherited
the beautiful colouring of his father and seems to be as sweet
natured as his dad is. Finally, he has a genetic diversity that’s
quite out of the ordinary, with, of course, Selle Francais, a lot
of Thoroughbred, some KWPN, some Trotter and some Anglo Arab, all
excellent competition horses.
Baraka de Bellaing
His father, Ulyss Morinda, who was born in 2008, 5* CIRALE, is
from a blood line rated 8 out of 10 by the ANSF. The line
returns to the Grand Prix mare Utricule (by Monceaux) then to her
daughter Piperazine Laleu, mother of many excellent horses.
Ulyss Morinda carries five Thoroughbred lines, amongst which is the
famous Laudanum, but also Ladykiller, Furioso, Pericles and
Monceaux. He also has Jalisco B as a maternal grand-father, thus he
has inherited all their best points.
The details of this beautiful blood line and the performances
with photos and videos can be seen on Ulyss Morinda’s page.
Ulyss, 6 year old Hunter Champion of France, returned to his true
discipline, CSO, as a 7 year old in 2015.
Ridden from now on by Rik Hemeryck (Belgium), he won the Selle
Francais Young Stallions Masters for 7 year olds (classed as ‘Very
Promising’ by the ANSF), and at 9 years old, he had already won and
been placed in numerous competitions at 1m50 (CSI 3*).
In 2018, Ulyss confirmed his quality, by being placed second at
the start of the year in the 3* Grand Prix at Bonheiden over 1m50
(just half a second off Daniel Deusser), placed seventh in the 1m50
jumping at Bourg en Bresse 4*, and jumping the 1m55 at Mauberge
with an incredible disdain for the fences. Still ridden by
Rik Hemeryck, he was then placed in the 1m60 Grand Prix,
participated in his first Nations’ Cup (Gijon CSIO 5*) and obtained
an ISO 160 in 2018.
In 2019 he confirmed his position once again : he’s been placed
several times over 1m50/1m55, and won a 1m60 Grand Prix in England
(see the section News). He’s also taken part in his first 5*
Rolex Grand Prix and proved he has the ability to jump anything he
meets at this level.
His mother, Rafale d’Hallobeau, qualified for the 5 year old
Young Horses final then obtained an ISO 131 as an eight year old
(2013). She was a very good mare, being very competitive, and with
We no longer present her father, the famous C Indoctro (a son of
the founding father of the breed Capitol). He’s a member of the
world elite and was classed as the 9th best stallion for
siring CSO winners in the whole world in 2014, with no less than
250 international winners!
Rafale’s maternal bloodline is most interesting. Her mother, Baraka
de Bellaing (Milou de Subligny x Casoar) also produced Jade de
Bellaing ISO 139.
Rafale has also inherited a shot of Anglo Arab as her
grandmother Gipsy d'Or is a daughter of the good stallion Casoar
who you can find in the maternal line of Royal Feu.
Her great grandmother, Bague d'Or, a French Trotter gave If de
Bellaing and Orvet de Ballaing, two very good jumpers. When
Trotters are good... they are very good, and their descendants are
generally extremely brave.
